Do You Need a Driving License to Ride a Buggy Safari? Age and Requirements Guide

Participant driving a buggy during the buggy safari tour

In short: No, you don't need a driving license to drive on Alanya Oasis Tour's buggy and ATV safari tours. The vehicles are automatic; knowing how to use the gas and brake is enough. Professional instructors give a safety briefing before the tour and have you do a short test drive.

Is a Driving License Required for Buggy Safari?

No. Our buggy vehicles have an automatic transmission system and feature a four-wheeled structure with a protective metal cage. No driver's license or previous off-road experience is required to drive; being able to use the gas and brake pedals is enough.

Do I Need a License for ATV (Quad) Safari?

No, there's no license requirement for our ATV safari either. ATVs are automatic and just as simple to use as the buggy. Before the tour, our instructors give a safety briefing and have participants do a short test drive so they can get a feel for controlling the vehicle.

What Is the Age Limit?

There isn't a clearly stated minimum age for participants who want to drive the vehicle themselves on the ATV safari, but children under 12 can join as a passenger behind an adult instead of driving the ATV. Buggy safari, on the other hand, is considered safe for both adults and children and joint participation in the same vehicle is generally possible; if you're unsure about your child's age, you can consult us before booking.

What Kind of Training Is Given Before the Tour?

On both tours, before heading onto the track, our guides give a briefing on the vehicle, using the gas and brake, and basic safety rules. Participants then try the vehicle with a short test drive before starting the track in a convoy accompanied by the guide.

How Is Safety Ensured During the Ride?

Throughout the tours, our guide rides at the front of the convoy and keeps all participants within sight. Helmets are provided to all participants. It's important for safety that participants don't leave the route and keep to the pace set by the guide.

Can Two People Ride the Same Vehicle?

Since buggy vehicles are generally two-seaters, couples or family members can join together in the same vehicle. On the ATV safari, two people can be in the same vehicle with a driver + passenger option; in that case, only the person in the driver's seat needs to manage the gas and brake.

Is Hotel Pickup/Drop-off Included?

Yes. Both our buggy and ATV safari tours include hotel pickup and drop-off after the tour as standard; helmet and professional guiding are also included in the price.
